Apple staff change stirs up iPhone 5 speculations

Benjamin Vigier, Apple's new head of m-commerce, has an extensive background in near field communications (NFC) technology, which handles applications like turning a mobile device into a credit/debit card.
The big thought is that the iPhone 5 will include NFC technology which will allow the iPhone to act as a purchasing device. While Apple has filed quite a few patents regarding NFC, including apps like iTravel for automatic boarding passes, iPay, and iBuy, none of these have actually made it to market yet. This technology makes sense with so many companies looking to streamline and automate purchasing options.
