$100 Unlimited plan being tested by Verizon in select markets

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Aug 20, 2010 5:01 am

Verizon has a pretty nice view from the top of the mountain as the top wireless carrier in the U.S., but it seems they might be hearing footsteps from the competition. Verizon has started offering their National Talk and Text plan for $70 USD in San Diego and Los Angeles, California; a $20 discount from their current offering. Throw in their $30 unlimited data, and you have an offer eerily similar to Sprint's $99 "Everything" plan.

There's no inkling either way at this point whether the offer will be expanded any farther than these two markets, although I'm sure Verizon customers everywhere and people shopping for a new carrier would love to see it. Between this and the possibility of the iPhone landing on Verizon next year, it looks like they are not giving up their spot at the top without a fight.
