Corsair launches USB gaming headset called HS1

By: (more) | Audio, Sound & Speakers News | Posted: Aug 31, 2010 4:04 pm

When you say Corsair gaming headsets aren't what will jump to mind for many people. What I tend to think of when I hear the Corsair name is enthusiast memory products for gaming machines, flash drives, and SSDs. Corsair has announced a new USB gaming headset today that only needs a single USB connection for power and to get the audio from your computer to the headset.

The new headset is called the Corsair Gaming Audio Series HS1 USB Gaming Headset. As you would expect from any gaming headset the HS1 features a mic that swivels out of the way when you don't need it and flips down when you want to talk in game. The headset uses a closed back design to block out noise and has an adjustable headband for comfort.

Corsair uses 50mm drivers in the headset rather than the more common 40mm to reduce vibration and offer better sound quality. The HS1 promises deep bass for explosions in games and movies. Each of the ear cups is covered in breathable fabric and has memory foam padding for long wear and comfort. The HS1 headphones support virtual Dolby 7.1 surround sound as well in movies and games.
