iOS devices call back to Apple whenever a WiFi connection is started
Comment | Print | Email to a Friend | Font Size: AAA few people have noticed that when you connect an iOS device to the internet, the first thing it does is make a connection back to Apple via the following address. You may have even noticed it flash by yourself and thought nothing of it.
While some may cry out that Apple is checking up on you and your device, security experts have studied the issue and stated that there is no privacy issue involved. The only real issue out there is that some believe that this little URL and the connection it makes could possibly fall into the wrong hands, leaving iOS device owners vulnerable to possible hackers and other internet nasties. For now it's just a quick peek over your shoulder, but always keep your guard up out there on the information superhighway.
