430 MB/s SATA 6.0 SSD coming from PhotoFast next month

By: (more) | Storage News | Posted: Sep 17, 2010 3:36 pm

PhotoFast, a Taiwan based storage company, has put out some teaser information on their first SSD that is looking to hit the market next month. Their G-Monster3 XV1 series of solid state drives will take advantage of the SATA 6.0 Gbps interface for blistering speeds.

The drives will have 128MB of DDR3 memory onboard for cache. There will be three drives in the initial release: a 64GB drive with 370 MB/s max read and 120 MB/s max write, a 128GB drive with 410 MB/s max read and 190 MB/s max write, and a 256GB drive with 430 MB/s max read and 300 MB/s max write. No information on pricing or the controller used for these drives has been released yet, but the G-Monster3 XV1 series will have a one year warranty and are planned to ship in October.
