When it comes to digital cameras there are many players on the market. Among the big players is Fujifilm and the company has today announced its latest camera. The Camera is called the Finepix X100 and it is a high-end digital compact with an APS-CMOS sensor and a 23mm fixed focal length lens.

The cameras isn't due to launch until early 2011, but Fujifilm is offering up many of the details we need to learn about the camera. The camera is made to appeal to the DSLR user that wants a high quality point and shoot as a backup camera. The X100 has a new Hybrid Viewfinder that combines the window-type bright frame optical viewfinder on film cameras with the electric viewfinder used on digital cameras.

The image sensor has 12.3MP resolution and it can shoot HD movies as well. The camera can shoot those videos with soft out of focus setting and the camera promises a high shutter speed to catch fast action. Fujifilm is keeping the price of the camera back until closer to launch. We can expect this high-end camera to be expensive though and will probably cost as much as some DSLR cameras.
