Universal Androot brings rooting Android devices to the masses

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Sep 21, 2010 12:09 am

Some people who aren't as tech-savvy as others may like the idea of rooting their Android phone for full access, but fear voiding their warranty or breaking their phone. The developers of Universal Androot are attempting to change this with their free app that will root a large number of Android phones with only a few taps. You can even "soft root" your phone to reset the phone to regular settings after a reboot.

Universal Androot works with many recent Android devices and requires no PC access or actual deep dark hacking that can strike fear into the average user. All you do is download the app, install it with the package manager after checking "Unknown Sources," then fire it up and "Go Root." A little homework is still required to find out what to do after you have access, but this seems to really trim down the process. Check out some links to help you along and for the app at the source link.
