Mobile App of the Day: Kindle for Android

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Sep 24, 2010 3:59 am

Our Mobile App of the Day today is Kindle for Android.

Amazon's Kindle app has been a popular alternative for those who want to have a ton of books at their fingertips but aren't quite ready to jump into an e-reader. Kindle for Android has just released a new version with some new features to keep it as one of the best e-reader apps out there.

Kindle for Android now supports search for words or phrases in the text of an e-book, either by typing in the phrase or speaking it into the phone. The ability to add and synchronize notes between devices in an e-book has also been added, in case you make notes in your e-book on your phone and need to access them from another device later. A screen lock has also been implemented to "freeze" a page either in landscape or portrait mode. The Kindle app is free, but you'll have to pay for you e-books of course. Learn more here or just scan this barcode with your Android device.
