LG kill Android 2.2 tablet plans, want to tap 3.0

By: (more) | Mobile Devices, Tablets & Phones News | Posted: Oct 5, 2010 12:23 am

LG said on Monday that it will not release a Google Android tablet this year - but will instead wait for a refreshed OS from Google. This is a swing in the other direction as it was only a few months ago that LG announced plans to join the tablet army - but is now patiently waiting for Google to get to Android 3.0

An LG official said "We plan to introduce a tablet that runs on the most reliable Android version ... We are in talks with Google to decide on the most suitable version for our tablet and that is not Froyo 2.2".

With all the players on the market for tablets, with Samsung, Dell and Apple to name a few - it's getting crowded quickly.

I think 2011 will be the tablet fight - especially with Android 3.0 shaking things up.
