By: (more) | Displays & Projectors News | Posted: Oct 19, 2010 5:02 pm

When it comes to displays for computers over the last few years models in all price ranges have started to go to LED backlighting. LED backlighting needs less power to operate and at the same time, LED screens tend to have better image quality for the user. Dell has pulled the wraps off several new LCDs that all use LED backlighting and are very power efficient and green.

The new screens include the 22-inch (ST2220), 23-inch (ST2320) and 24-inch (ST2420) displays. The screens have many of the same features like Energy Star 5.0 rating, 1920 x 1080 resolution, 5ms response times and dynamic contrast ratios from 7M:1 up to 8M:1. The display all have slim black cases for good looks and style and use arsenic-free glass and mercury-free panels.

Connectivity on the basic line of screens includes DVI and VGA ports. Models with the L suffix include VGA, DVI, and HDMI ports. All of the screens support HDCP for playing Blu-ray movies. The prices for the screens are as follows ST2220L ($199.99), ST2220M ($189.99), ST2320L ($229.99) and ST2420L ($259.99). All of the displays are shipping right now directly from Dell.
