Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac hits beta

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Oct 26, 2010 5:00 pm

If you are looking forward to getting your hands on a new Windows Phone 7 smartphone when they hit the market soon and use Mac, you may have worried how you were going to synchronize the phone and connect it to the computer. Considering the smartphone is a Microsoft OS device that would be an understandable worry. Microsoft has announced that the software needed for Mac users is now in beta.

The Mac app is called Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac. The app is available at the Windows Download Center and the Mac must be running OS 10.5 Leopard or higher to use the software. If your Mac meets those specs, you can grab it to allow sync of music, photos, video, and podcasts from iTunes and iPhoto to the WinPo 7 device.

MacRumors points out an important fact, we can assume that if you purchased content via iTunes the DRM in the files will prevent the content from synchronizing to the Windows device. The file isn't that large at 5MB and the estimated download time on a 56K modem is only 13 minutes.
