It looks like even the U.S. Government is on board with Android. The United States Special Operations Command has nailed down Android as the platform of choice to produce a fleet of devices for their entire force. Android will reportedly be the base platform for the next generation of the Tactical Situational Awareness Application Suite, or TactSA.
This set of tools is available to all special ops member and includes communications, mapping, and whiteboard tools to use in the field. The open-source ideals of the Android platform makes sense for government programs since they can tweak it to their specifications, although it will probably look nothing like the Android we know and love once they're done with it. No word yet on whether Angry Birds will be used as a strategic exercise.
