When the first flash drives surfaced they were nothing more than way to store data that was more robust and easy to carry with you than a CD or floppy disc. At some point along the way the drives moved from utilitarian devices into the realm of devices that people buy for their cool factor rather than any need for more storage. This is the point where the fashionable and collectible flash drives became popular.

We have hoards of flash drives on the market today that will store your data, but they allow look like weird food, animals, and even Star Wars characters. Active Media Products makes a lot of flash drives that certainly fall into the fashion category.
