Panasonic updates G2 interchangeable lens camera with new firmware
Panasonic was one of the first companies to start offering the smaller interchangeable lens cameras that sat in the gap between point and shoot cams and the DSLRs we all know and love. Not so long ago Panasonic was showing off a cool and very compact lens for the G-series cameras that allowed the cameras to shoot images in 3D. The lens is called the H-FT02 and sells for around $250.

If you own a G2 camera from Panasonic you may have been bummed that your camera didn't support that cool 3D lens. The lens has dual optics inside and allows the shooting of 3D images that can be viewed on 3D TVs from Panasonic and other firms. Panasonic has announced a new firmware for the camera that adds support for the 3D lens.
The firmware brings the camera to v1.1. You obviously need to get the lens in addition to the firmware to be able to take and playback 3D images. The firmware is free and can be downloaded right now.
