Kindle e-book gifting now available to anyone with an email address

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Nov 20, 2010 4:33 am

Buying your literature junkie friends a new book was just made a whole lot easier. Amazon announced today that they now support gifting e-books to anyone with an email address just in time for the holiday shopping season. This new email option makes it easy for recipients to transfer their new e-book to any mobile platform that supports Kindle, be it PC, Android, or iOS.

With e-books already outselling their hardcover brethren in Amazon's stores, the folks behind Kindle are looking to expand that hold. According to Russ Grandinetti, vice president of Amazon Kindle, "We're making this functionality available in time for the holidays to offer an easy, stress free holiday shopping option for anyone - not just Kindle owners." With over 750,000 titles to choose from, the only pain is going to be deciding which title to buy.
