Netflix talking to the networks; looking to get access to newer TV episodes

By: (more) | Software News | Posted: Dec 3, 2010 2:08 am

Netflix is not happy with only having previous seasons when it comes to TV episodes. According to several reports, Netflix is in negotiations with several TV networks to stream the latest TV episodes for up to $100,000 a pop.

This obviously would put Netflix squarely in Hulu's turf, which is currently the go-to site for most streaming TV viewers. It can't be a coincidence that Netflixs' newest streaming only service is priced at $8 a month, which is exactly what Hulu Plus subscribers pay as well. Netflix has already gotten their feet wet in current TV with their recent deal for new Saturday Night Live episodes, but that's obviously not enough for the company. Hey, anything that gets me closer to cutting the satellite cord I will call a win.
