Google's CR-48 Chrome OS laptop shipping from Inventec

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Dec 8, 2010 3:39 pm

Google's new Chrome OS is a whole lot closer to getting its test drive today. Inventec has begun shipping the CR-48 testing laptop to Google and reports show that the number coming is around 60,000.

This laptop, which comes unbranded, will be divvied out by Google to the lucky beta testers they choose who either signed up through their site or scored one through various other means. There's no branding on this sleek little 12.1" device that comes in all black. Retail models are expected to hit in mid-2011 from Acer and Samsung, provided there's no delays in the current timeline.
