Sewell HDdeck USB to HDMI adapter puts your computer screen on your TV

By: (more) | Peripherals News | Posted: Dec 9, 2010 7:00 pm

If you want to put your notebook or netbook screen on a larger display in your living room and your machine lacks an output for graphics or only has VGA out and your TV doesn't support VGA you can still get your content on a bigger screen. A new adapter from Sewell called the HDdeck USB to HDMI adapter will take your video output from the notebook and shoot it to your TV with HDMI and USB connectivity.

You connect the adapter to your notebook or netbook with a USB cable. Drivers installed on the computer will shoot the video from your screen over the USB cable and the adapter will turn that into HDMI signals. The HDMI cable for the adapter to your TV will then let you just plug in and watch as you would any other HDMI source.

According to Sewell, the adapter has enough oomph for gaming and supports up to 1080p resolution. The adapter has a DisplayLink chip inside to handle the video duties. If you want to make a video wall, you can stack up to six of the adapters from one computer. Each of the adapters is $99 and they are available right now.
