Mark Zuckerberg nabs Person of year Honor from TIME

By: (more) | Social Networking News | Posted: Dec 15, 2010 5:12 pm

I'm not a reader of TIME Magazine. The last time I picked an issue up was when I was in the doctor with my kid and that issue was 27 years old. TIME magazine picks a person of the year each year without much in the way of an explanation of what good the person has actually done according to some.

This year Facebook leader and creator Mark Zuckerberg got the nod. I guess I can get behind this a bit considering the dude just gave have his personal fortune to charity. I can see the reasoning for the choice a bit; Facebook has changed the way that we interact.

I'm not convinced the way we interact is changed for the better. Most of the people I know only use Facebook to show off what they are doing and the fact that they did things you weren't included in. Either that or they are showing pics of stupid stuff like what they are eating. TIME does point out that Facebook is growing at about 700,000 users per day, which is impressive. One of the runner's up was Julian Assange from WikiLeaks.
