AMD Radeon HD6950 can be unlocked to HD6970!
Comment | Print | Email to a Friend | Font Size: AAWell AMD, you've certaintly rustled some feathers in the community over Christmas. Reports are flying in that AMD's Radeon HD6950 can be unlocked to a full blown HD6970 with just a few clicks of your mouse.
You are able to safely perform this procedure from Windows - even if something goes wrong, you'll be ok, thanks to AMD's new Dual-BIOS feature on the HD6900 cards. The source has tested 3 cards (AMD engineering sample, HIS media sample and a retail Asus card) - all working as a HD6970.
