MSI unveils it's gem, the Big Bang Marshal P67 motherboard

By: (more) | Motherboards News | Posted: Dec 30, 2010 2:14 pm

MSI are definitely wanting to have a huge party with the overclocking and enthusiast crowd as of late. First we have the amazing HAWK, Twin Frozr coolers, Big Bang motherboards and overclocked GPU's coming through at every angle.

Now we have the top of the line Sandy Bridge mobo - the Big Bang Marshal. The board is an XL-ATX form-factor, with eight (!) PCIe 16x slots which can be used in either a four x16 or an eight x8 configuration. This is made possible thanks to Lucid's HydraLogix chip - which also enables any combination of AMD and NVIDIA GPU's to be used in multi-GPU setups.

If you thought that was overkill, MSI aren't finished yet. The board features three separate BIOS chips, eight USB 3.0 ports, two eight-pin P4 power connectors and a six-pin connector to feed all those PCIe extra juice. It also comes with SATA 6Gbps, dual GbE, on-board power, reset and overclocking buttons, an LED error display and voltage measurement points.

The board is apparently still in development, so the feature set could change between now and the launch which is slated for Q1 2011.

You may begin to wipe the drool from your face.
