ioSafe Blows the Competition Away With the new Rugged Portable

By: (more) | Storage News | Posted: Jan 6, 2011 1:00 pm

CES 2011, Las Vegas - Few companies know how to really start CES off like ioSafe. ioSafe has already shown their products in simulated house fires, under water in the pool and even being ran over by heavy machinery. This year ioSafe had to do something different and they did it this year with a bang!

That's right, CES this year started out with live fire on the shooting range.

Here is a shot of the new ioSafe Rugged Portable after a single blast of steel shot.

As you know CES is all about excess so one shot isn't going to cut it. After ioSafe had a turn it was the media's turn to fire up the same drive.

By the time we were all finished the ioSafe Rugged Portable had around 6 direct hits, enough to cut a man in 12 little pieces.

Competing "rugged" drives didn't fair as well as you can see here.

The fun didn't stop with the shotgun though. After the smell of gun powder was extinguished we started looking for even more ways to abuse the ioSafe Rugged Portable. Here we see the drive toss competition.

When we were finally finished abusing the new ioSafe Rugged Portable the real test began. Here we see the abused drive plugged in and still working.

This round of testing was conducted on the aluminum model. If you can dish out even more abuse then stay tuned for ioSafe's titanium version of the Rugged Portable. Hopefully we can get a TI model in for testing and see how it fairs against my personal firearms at home. Stay tuned!
