Apple iPad 2 display to rock a 2048x1536 resolution?

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Jan 16, 2011 11:59 pm

More and more rumors are surfacing regarding Apples upcoming next-gen iPad - the new rumors are starting to get me a little over-excited. The latest rumor is that the iPad could be doubling it's current resolution of 1024x768 up to 2048x1536.

Most people have just guessed that the next-gen iPad would have the retina display ala iPhone 4, but this rumor is juicy enough to hopefully be true. Even at 2048x1536 it will still not be "retina" specifications, but the resolution is high enough to make the next-gen iPad look insanely sexy.

With the higher-resolution display will come the requirement of an increase in processing power - there have been reports of a new version of the A4 ARM processor, either the A5 or A8 is going to be incorporated.
