With so many different Android devices flooding the worldwide smartphone market, it was only a matter of time before Google became the king of the mountain in popularity. According to sales figures last quarter, Android sold 32.9 million handsets which dethroned Nokia's Symbian as the king of the smartphone OS mountain.

While the more expensive Android devices like the EVO and Epic are the first devices that come to mind when you think Android, Google has made it clear that they are trying to make Android accessible for even the feature-phone market with devices like the Optimus One. This could put a further dent in Nokia's worldwide phone sale dominance, and leave companies like RIM further behind. This isn't even counting Android's presence in the tablet game, which with upcoming devices will gain Google even more of a stranglehold on the mobile device market if Honeycomb is as cool as advertised.
