Interstellar Marines is an indie title made by Zero Point Software, they are also the publisher and are self-funded (independent obviously) and partly funded by the gaming community.

IM is an AAA, FPS, Sci-Fi, action and adventure game that is set to differentiate itself between the constant flogging the FPS genre receives at the moment. The above video looks quite impressive for an indie-developer and I'm looking forward to seeing more on it.

ZPS is allowing you (yes you!) to be part of the journey, they do this by releasing playable chapters which are available from their website.
