In keeping with the times, we've just made some specification updates to all three systems listed in our System Builders Guide and wanted to give a heads up to those of you looking to build up a new rig in the near future and wanting some help in terms of component choice.

Looking at the cheapest of the three systems in our SBG, the Sub-lieutenant which caters to those of you on a budget and coming in under a thousand bucks, a minor revision update has been made today in the way of a changeover of optical drive to Lite-On's iHAS424-98 SATA DVD Writer.

Focusing our attention on the more heavily specced up Commander PC which comes in at double the price, this too just gets a minor update today to the aforementioned optical drive.

As for the cream of the crop in our Admiral PC where price is of little to no concern when wanting to build your powerhouse, this one sees revision updates today that include an optical drive changeover that continues to offer Blu-ray burning support with LightScribe while dropping the price a little to boot. The drive in question is Lite-On's iHBS212 with 8MB of cache and zippy 12x BD-R and 2X BR-RE write speeds.

We've also switched up both the video card setup and sound card on the Admiral. Now the system boasts 4x MSI GeForce N580GTX Twin Frozr II/OC Video Cards in Quad SLI and ASUS' much loved Xonar Essence STX sound card.
