Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 get Service Pack 1 shortly

By: (more) | Software News | Posted: Feb 10, 2011 1:20 am

Microsoft has announced that Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 has gone Release to Manufacturing (RTM). SP1 includes minor updates such as RemoteFX and Dynamic Memory. The usual consolidation of security and stability updates are rolled in, so most people already have what makes up SP1, from their current Windows Updates.

Although Service Pack 1 has hit Release to Manufacturing status today, the actual download won't be able until next week. Volume license customers as well as Technet and MSDN subscribers will have access to it from February 16. Windows Update and pre-install availability should start on February 22.
