Slacker Radio, a popular online music streaming service, is looking to expand their services into automobiles. Thanks to a windfall of around $3 million, Slacker hopes to further their services beyond free and paid radio as well.
Slacker could be putting that money not only towards automobile implementation, which would have a leg up on competing sites like Pandora due to their license to cache music, but also could be bringing on-demand music sometime very soon. On-demand was supposed to hit at the end of January but has been pushed back due to unknown reasons. The newest expected realse date is sometime around the SXSW conference in March.
