Apple set to deliver 4.5 million iPad 2's each month to customers

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Apr 7, 2011 2:52 am

Apple have had a runaway success train with the iPad 2 so far, pushing 2.5 million units in March alone and they're looking to increase this number to over 4.5 million just to meet demand. Insiders are claiming that Apple need to meet demand for 12 million (!) iPad 2's in the second quarter if they want to fully maximise their sales.

Apple have reportedly made deals with various suppliers in Japan, paying 400-percent over the odds for specific components to ensure they would get priority over everyone else. Of course Japan has been going through one of the most severe disasters/events, but I'm sure those suppliers getting 400-percent over the odds are rubbing their hands together, I do hope they're donating some of it to the disaster relief efforts though.
