Sony are launching their Next Generation Portable (NGP) at the end of the year and in preparation for this, they have dropped the price of the current PSP. Sony Computer Entertainment Australia have announced a new price of $189.95 for the PSP-3000 system, with the previous price being $279.95.

Sony did the same thing in the US last year cutting the PSP price by US$40, from US$170 to US$130. The launch price in the US was US$250. SCEA have also announced that starting April 14, PSP owners will have access to Music Unlimited, a new cloud-based digital music subscription service, via their PSN IDs.

The service will allow users to listen to music as well as provide access to personalised music channels and synchronisation through the PlayStation 3, PC and other network-enabled Sony devices.
