Apple hire Tomlinson Holmon, who is he? Oh just the guy responsible for THX
Comment | Print | Email to a Friend | Font Size: AAApple may have just completed one of the best moves in the audio industry without so much as a rumble from the community, they have reportedly just hired Tomlinson Holman who is the audio expert behind Lucasfilm's THX audio and he now has the position of their new head of audio.
Apple have yet to have confirmed his status as a new employee, but we are talking about Apple here - they do things at their own time. Holman has quite the resume, his prevous job was as a film sound professor at the University of Southern California, he has recently received an Academy Award for Technical Achievement. Additionally, he has spend the past 15 years as the corporate technical director for Lucasfilm, and all of the groups THX patents come from his work and designs.
Impressive move, Apple.
