Metro: Last Light announced, includes multiplayer

By: (more) | Gaming News | Posted: Jun 1, 2011 3:39 am

THQ has just announced Metro: Last Light as a 2012 title for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC platforms. The new foray into the Metro universe will feature multiplayer, something that was not available in Metro 2033. The developers are touting that they're exploring ammo as a currency; fresh idea, I love it! Below is the announcement trailer!

Danny Bilson, EVP Core Games, THQ has said:

We believe that Metro 2033 was a flawed masterpiece. It was a beautiful, original game that didn't get the marketing support it needed. We won't make that mistake with Metro: Last Light. This game improves on the original in every way - it will have more polish, deeper and more sophisticated gameplay, and satisfyingly visceral combat, without losing what our fans loved about the original. Metro: Last Light is another artful piece of game development from an Eastern European studio that will thrill and terrify anyone looking for a more cerebral experience than your typical first person shooter.

Metro: Last Light throws the player into the middle of a civil war for control over a doomsday device that threatens to wipe out humanity forever. Included on top of the single-player campaign is the multiplayer experience that brings Metro's flair of extraordinary lightning, physics and destruction that is made possible by Metro: Last Light's amazing 4A Engine technology.
