Turbo II is better than Turbo I Apacer say with new SSD drives

By: (more) | Storage News | Posted: Jun 5, 2011 7:15 am

Computex Taipei 2011 - Like most companies Apacer have jumped on the SATA III bandwagon via the new Turbo II series. Offering up to 7x the performance of conventional 5400 RPM mechanical drives SATA III does a great job of getting us excited.

Compared to SATA II we're seeing up to twice as much performance, when you consider the amount of performance we're able to get out of SATA II, it's indeed a very cool technology for people who demand speed.

The Turbo II series will come in 120GB, 240GB and 480GB using MLC flash supporting up to sustained Read / Write times of 550 / 520 MB/s.

While we don't have an exact date when the new Apacer Turbo II series drives will be available, there's no doubt they won't be far away as we're seeing companies really begin to ramp up the release of SATA III drives.
