ASUS show off 24-inch LED USB-powered monitor

By: (more) | Displays & Projectors News | Posted: Jun 7, 2011 1:02 am

ASUS have demonstrated a USB-powered monitor, the MS248B which is a slightly tweaked MS248H. This monitor is pretty unique; a single USB3.0 port at the back and that's it. One cable. The single USB3.0 cable transmits both power and data and being USB3.0 it's capable of providing 80-percent more power for configured devices.

ASUS have also managed to cut the power consumption of the screen down to 9W which is quite the feat considering the MS248H reportedly uses 33W. Spec wise the MS248B is a full HD 1920x1080, 24-inch, 10m:1 contrast ratio with a 2ms response time, a glossy piano black bezel, LED touch-sensor buttons and an ultra-slim 16.5mm profile.
