MSI Windpad 120W Intel "Cedar Trail" tablet hands-on

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Jun 7, 2011 2:17 pm

Computex Taipei 2011 - We aren't done just yet. Nicole also stopped by the MSI booth at Computex and went hands-on with the Windpad 120W, an upcoming Windows based Ultra Potable Portable tablet.

The big thing about the 120W is that it is based on Intel's upcoming "Cedar Trail" Atom platform that comes with a dual-core processor that comes with Hyper Threading for a total of four logical cores. When investigating further, Nicole discovered it has a Windows performance rating of 3.4 which is quite higher than other tablets seen around the show.

It will include a HDMI port for full 1080p HD output and it even comes with Intel wireless display (WiDi 2.0) support so that you can wireless stream HD content from the Windpad 120W to your display.

Nicole was overall impressed with the performance of the tablet, but had some issues with the design in where MSI placed some of the air vents which are potentially blocked by the way you hold the device.
