Microsoft-branded tablet in 2012?

By: (more) | Mobile Devices News | Posted: Jun 9, 2011 1:02 am

The popularity of Windows 8 is growing and Microsoft knows this, their new tablet-orientated OS will power a bunch of tablets in 2012 and it seems as though Microsoft might have their own branded tablet that competes with tablet makers who are using Windows 8.

Apple and Google are the current juggernauts of the mobile industry with some damn good OSs on the market, Microsoft are obviously envious of this and are looking to copy their branding strategy from product lines such as the Xbox 360, Zune, Kin smartphone and TV in order to compete in the tablet PC segment. Microsoft have to be careful though, out of those product lines the only one that is truly successful is the Xbox 360, the other products all had unsatisfactory performance.

After it's all said and done, Microsoft are still looking to launch their own-brand tablet PC and will proceed with a low profile.
