Futuremark shatters 75% off the cost of Shattered Horizon for next 24 hrs

Futuremark has an awesome deal lined up for its zero gravity FPS game, Shattered Horizon, shaving a massive 75% off the normal cost for the next day, making it just $4.99.

Their generosity comes after NASA wrapped up its 30 year space program last week when the Shuttle landed for the final time.

The retirement of the iconic shuttle fleet marks the end of an era, and leaves America with no means of getting astronauts up to orbit.

NASA's intention is to invite the private sector to provide space transport services, and in response, Futuremark Games Studio is putting forward the most affordable space travel offer ever seen.

For one day only, starting from around 10:00 PST Monday July 25, our zero gravity first-person shooter Shattered Horizon will be 75 percent off on Steam.

For as little as $4.99 PC gamers can experience the wonder of seeing Earth from space. Floating in zero gravity. Visiting the ISS. And, erm, being shot at by high powered weapons with only a thin layer of fabric between them and the cold, hard vacuum of space.

We're sad to see the shuttle programme end, but with an average mission costing $450 million, we think our alternative is one hell of a bargain.

The awesome $4.99 deal starts at about 10:00 PST today and finishes at the same time tommorow, so if you want cheap, immersive space travel, here's your ticket folks!
