Acer Iconia Smart supersized 4.8-inch smartphone scheduled for September launch
Acer's beefy Iconia Smart smartphone with 4.8-inch sized touch screen is finally looking to launch around mid-September, this after much anticipation for months since its Europe unveiling back in February.
The 4.8-inch screen is the biggest, boldest feature of the phone, with a resolution of 1024 x 480 (21:9 aspect ratio). With that said, it looks pretty darn decent across the board really, packing a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 8MP rear facing camera with LED flash, front facing 2MP camera for video chatting etc, built-in gyroscope, accelerometer, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, DLNA support and 14.4Mbps HSDPA support.
Running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), the Iconia Smart is said to be launching at €499 (around $705 USD) without any service agreements.
