AMD Catalyst 11.8 delivers performance increases as usual, Black Ops sees 20% increase in performance

AMD's Catalyst 11.8 drivers have had the WHQL nod of approval and performance-wise, we're seeing a decent improvement for HD 5000 and HD 6000-series owners. With a 10% boost in performance when playing Crysis 2 in DirectX 11 with anti-aliasing enabled and disabled. FEAR 3 receives up to 8% more fps with DX11 and AA enabled, 20% for Black Ops with both single and multi-GPU setups and up to as much as 30% more when AMD's morphological anti-aliasing (MLAA) is enabled through the CCC.

Catalyst 11.8 also includes an update to AMD Overdrive that includes both CPU and GPU overclocking controlers in the Vision Control Center (CPU overclocking is limited to Black Edition chips). Over 12 bug fixes, many of those used to cause BSODs, black screens and video corruption in various applications and games including 3DMark 11, StarCraft 2 and FEAR 3.
