CyanogenMod mastermind, Steve Kondik has taken a job as a software engineer with Samsung Mobile. Kondik, famous for the range of CyanogenMod custom ROMs which unlock a slew of additional features and functions for Android-based handsets, as well as removing some of the unwanted bloatware that manu manufacturers and mobile networks pump into their handsets.

CyanogenMod has seen over 500,000 installs and Kondik has quite the following because of the additional features and clean look of it's interface. The next questions is whether Kondik will continue his work on CyanogenMod, but he has said his "Side project (CM) is not affiliated in any way with my employer." I've always wanted to mess with a custom ROM with my HTC Desire, but the last time I tried, I fried the PCB. Sob.
