Hercules 3D Prophet 4800 Video Card Review

By: (more) | 3D News | Posted: Aug 12, 2002 10:54 pm

Overclockers Online have slapped up a review of the Hercules 3D Prophet 4800 videocard. This card is based on the Kyro2 SE chipset and is aimed towards the casual gamer and the budget market in general.

The default clock and memory speed of the Kyro2 SE chipset are synchronized at 200MHz. This means the core runs at 200MHz as well as the memory ;) The core is cooled down by a normal-sized blue active cooler. The fan on this cooler does not produce much noise and that is a definite plus compared to some other videocards we have reviewed before! The card uses 64MB of 4.7ns Hynix SDRAM (no DDR - rated at 212MHz) combined with a 128bit memory interface. The memory chips come without RAM sinks, but that should not be a problem considering the fact that the RAM is capable of running 212MHz by default.
