Gateway launch re-branded Acer tablet - TP Series A60
Comment | Print | Email to a Friend | Font Size: AAIn somewhat quiet fashion Acer's subsidiary Gateway looks to have released its first 10-inch Android tablet this week, the TP Series A60 with it popping up on Canada's FutureShop for sale.
The unit is more or less a rebranding of Acer's Iconica Tab A500. It runs 3.1 (Honeycomb), weighs about 765 grams, is 1.3cm thick and uses a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 touchscreen. Powered by NVIDIA's Tegra 2 SoC (using two ARM cores @ 1GHz), it packs 1GB of RAM, 16GB of in-built storage, has an SDHC card slot, 5-megapixel rear facing camera and 2-megapixel front-facing, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, built-in GPS, a couple USB ports and a 6,520 mAh battery that is said to give it about 8 hours of operation.
The TP Series A60 is now showing as being in stock at Futureshop, costing $400 CAD (about $404 USD).
