ASUS vows to deliver Eee Pad Slider before the end of September, at $479

ASUS have confirmed that they will release the slip 'n' slidin' Eee Pad Slider before the end of the month, at $479. The 10.1-inch slate sports a 1280x800 IPS Gorilla Glass touchscreen, whilst being powered by NVIDIA's Tegra 2 SoC - identical to the awesome Eee Pad Transformer. The Slider has the hardware keyboard as shown in the picture below. Liliputing has had hands-on experience with the Slider and says that the Slider's keyboard is sufficient for productivity sessions, but it's not exactly ideal because its layout is more cramped than you'd find on a notebook or 10.1-inch netbook.

I'm guessing the Slider's keyboard (for me at least) would only be used for those quick e-mails, or messages. The touchscreen is just that, a touch screen. I find the Transformers screen and the use of SwiftKey X is amazing as it's a thumb-based keyboard. But the Slider with it's own slide-out keyboard is just another step into Awesome Town.
