AMD release Catalyst 11.10 drivers

By: (more) | Software News | Posted: Nov 2, 2011 3:19 am

AMD have just released the fresh out of the oven Catalyst 11.10 driver package for both 32- and 64-bit Windows 7, Vista and XP. It has some Battlefield 3 enhancements, which are very, very cool indeed. Catalyst 11.10 brings five-display Eyefinity configurations to the table, capable of 16000x16000 resolutions. Yes, 16000x16000, there's not an extra 0 there, thats sixteen thousand by sixteen thousand.

A new "bezel compensation" feature is also available, capable of adjusting Eyefinity-linked displays with different pixel densities. Just in case you didn't have your Eyefinity rig with the same monitors and/or resolutions. A bunch of fixes are included, mostly for WIndows 7; Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Lost Planet 2, F1 2010, Dirt 2, Google Earth and Mafia 2 are amongst the games or programs where crashing or corruption issues have been fixed.

Display corruption issues when running multiple monitors with Aero enabled are also fixed. The driver package supports most of AMD's DirectX 10 and DirectX 11-capable Radeon cards. You can grab the new drivers from AMD's website, through the Catalyst's software automatic updater, or through Steam.
