HP intros its Windows 7 Slate 2 tablet
HP has launched its Slate 2 tablet PC today which is looking pretty shmick in all. Targetted toward business users, it runs Windows 7 and features an 8.9-inch (1024 x 600) capacitive touchscreen supporting both finger and pen input.
The unit is powered by an Atom Z670 processor @ 1.6GHz with the option of up to a 64GB mSATA SSD for storage. Its feature set includes WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G (optional), front VGA camera, rear facing 3 megapixel camera, SD card slot, SRS Premium Sound, embedded TPM security chip, a couple USB 2.0 ports and HDMI output.
HP says the Slate 2's battery will allow for up to 6 hours of operation. The new business tablet is set to become available later this month, with pricing starting at $699 US.
