Motorola unveils Xoom 2, Xoom 2 Media Edition
Motorola have officially unveiled their new tablets, the Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition. Both of them are virtually identical, both featuring 1.2GHz dual-core processors, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, as well as a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Both will run Android 3.2 and both include the same handful of Google apps out of the box.
Let's move onto the differences, the full-sized Xoom 2 sports a 10.1-inch HD display with Gorilla Glass, with the smaller Media Edition taking the form of an 8.2-inch display. The Xoom 2 has a bigger battery expected to last up to 10 hours with the Media Edition only capable of 6 hours.
Ever wanted a "splash-guard", well, if you did, you might want to pick up the Xoom 2. It includes one, no, I'm not joking. U.K. and Ireland-based peeps can pick up the Xoom 2 of their choice in "mid-November", but no pricing has been stated as of yet. Release dates in other continents is also not known, but it shouldn't be too far behind our U.K. and Ireland brothers and sisters.
