Intel the savior of SSDs, bringing TRIM support to RAID0 with RST 11.5

For those of you running SSDs in RAID0, you have to lose TRIM. But, not for long. Intel is finally bringing TRIM support to their SSDs when running in RAID0. Right now, the only way for TRIM to function on an SSD is to have it operate in ACHI mode.

 

If it's not run in ACHI mode, and you enable RAID0 with another SSD, it loses the ability of NAND cleaning benefits which could decrease speeds over time, or as the drive fills up. Intel has stated that current RST versions don't yet support TRIM, but come RST 11.5, they will.

 

It was noticed in a release statement for Intel's RST 11.5 Alpha release, with the following line:
