RunCore announces InVincible V Series SSD

By: (more) | Storage News | Posted: Nov 23, 2011 1:20 am

In what might sound like a porno name, RunCore have announced a new solid-state drive today, the military-grade InVincible V SSD. RunCore have wanted to keep the reliability and stability of a high-end drive, without sacrificing the break-neck speeds of SSDs.

Enter, RunCore InVincible V which has passed a series of screening tests in full accordance with MIL requirements such as temperature, vibration, shock, salt spray - compliant with MIL-810F and GJB150, can still offer superior performance in extreme environments. The drive only features a SATA II interface, and offers up to 240MB/sec read and 220MB/sec write, with 4k random writes up to 5,000 IOPS.

It's available in 512GB in MLC and 256GB in SLC. It also features a Mission Impossible-style self-erase technology which once triggered, can quickly and thoroughly erase data to prevent information leaks. It also featured Global Wear Leveling which can effectively extend the service life of the product whilst SSD Life Guard technology monitors the status of the drive.

SSDLifeSaver technology can consistently backup existing data to prevent the accidental loss of data.

Edit: I've received an e-mail to say that the English naming of the SSD was wrong, it is not Glory V, but InVincible V.
