Microsoft Flight, rebooted version of Microsoft Flight Simulator and goes into beta next month

By: (more) | Gaming News | Posted: Dec 5, 2011 7:26 am

Microsoft's Flight Simulator series has enjoyed some great aerial highs in its time, but Microsoft have retired the name and refreshed it all by removing one of the words. Now dubbed "Microsoft Flight", Microsoft Game Studios have been whispering about the game for a while now, and have said they're opening it up to beta testers next month.

In order to get into the pilots seat of the beta test, you'll need to sign up with multiple tiers of Microsoft online service, but most of you would already have half of those accounts required. What could we expect from the new game? A huge increase in performance and scaling is something I hope.

MS's Flight Sim has always been a Crysis-like game that is happy to suck down all of your PCs power... but hopefully Microsoft get the scaling done well in this, scaling between dual, quad, hex and eight-core CPUs, as well as the multiple levels of GPUs and SLI/CFX options of today's GPUs. The teaser trailer above didn't really do much to tempt me personally, but fans of the series should be starting up their engines and putting on their flying boots in anticipation.
