Thought the Saw movies were over? Well, Lionsgate want to play a game...

Saw when it came out, was great. It was something different amongst a sea of the ageing horror genre, which has been stabbed, murdered, and raped behond Hollywood comprehension. While the Saw series ran kind of stale, you can't deny the twist endings and pure horror of those traps.

Saw 3D was the most expensive of the series thus far, it did receive a nice bonus in the box office due to 3D, but it failed to live up to expectations. This is why Saw didn't make an appearance this year, and why Paranormal Activity 3 was the only major horror Halloween release.

But, there will be more games to be played with Lionsgate Vice Chairman Michael Burns speaking to CNBC Tuesday about the potential merger with Summit Entertainment and has let this bit of information out onto horror fans ears (or eyes?):

I'm sure, some day, you'll see Saw back in the picture.
